If you decide to transfer a domain name from one registrar company to another, you’ll have to go through a couple of security procedures. One of them is obtaining a unique EPP code from the current registrar – provided that you are the registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email address and no one else can see it. You have to provide this code to the new domain registrar, or else they won’t be able to initiate the domain transfer process. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may include digits or special symbols such as commas or dots, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an extra safety measure, the transfer code for a domain may be altered on a regular basis. Some registrar companies call this code a domain secret, an Auth key or a domain password as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

You can get the EPP transfer code for any domain that you have registered through us with only several clicks of the mouse from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to manage your hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all your domain names neatly listed in alphabetical order. If a certain extension supports transfers between registrars with an EPP transfer code, you’ll see an EPP button to the right of the given domain. If you click on that button, the code will be emailed to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the domain in question. If you wish, you can modify the contact information, including the email address, without having to leave this Control Panel section, in case the current email address is not valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

In case you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you have registered a domain name that you want to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code very easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage both your account and your domain names. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see an EPP symbol next to your domains, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the domain name owner can receive this info. If the currently listed email address is not valid anymore, you can modify it with several mouse clicks without needing to leave this Control Panel section. The change is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain name right away.
